RIP one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time died today in a car accident in Tampa, Florida . TMZ spoke with Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM and lost control of his vehicle. Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.
Savage was 58. Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase "Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh." UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ ... Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic and "collided head-on with a tree." Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries. Savage's wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision -- but survived with "minor injuries." She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated. According to officials, Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Cops say alcohol was NOT a factor.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

Singer-actor Jerry Reed dies at the age of 71
Jerry Reed, a singer who became a good ol' boy actor in car chase movies like "Smokey and the Bandit," has died of complications from emphysema at 71.
His longtime booking agent, Carrie Moore-Reed, no relation to the star, said Reed died early Monday.
"He's one of the greatest entertainers in the world. That's the way I feel about him," Moore-Reed said.
Sony BMG Nashville Chairman Joe Galante called Reed a larger-than-life personality.
"Everything about Jerry was distinctive: his guitar playing, writing, voice and especially his sense of humor," Galante said. "I was honored to have worked with him."
Reed's catalog of country chart hits, from 1967 through 1983, were released under the label group's RCA imprint.
As a singer in the 1970s and early 1980s, Reed had a string of hits that included "Amos Moses," "When You're Hot, You're Hot," "East Bound and Down," "She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft)" and "The Bird."
In the mid-1970s, he began acting in movies such as "Smokey and the Bandit" with Burt Reynolds, usually as a good ol' boy. But he was an ornery heavy in "Gator," directed by Reynolds, and a hateful coach in 1998's "The Waterboy," starring Adam Sandler.
Reynolds gave him a shiny black 1980 Trans Am like the one they used in "Smokey and the Bandit."
Reed and Kris Kristofferson paved the way for Nashville music personalities to make inroads into films. Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and Kenny Rogers (TV movies) followed their lead.
"I went around the corner to motion pictures," he said in a 1992 AP interview.
Reed had quadruple bypass surgery in June 1999.
Born in Atlanta, Reed learned to play guitar at age 8 when his mother bought him a $2 guitar and showed him how to play a G-chord.
He dropped out of high school to tour with Ernest Tubb and Faron Young.
At 17, he signed his first recording contract, with Capitol Records.
He moved to Nashville in the mid-1960s where he caught the eye of Chet Atkins.
He first established himself as a songwriter. Elvis Presley recorded two of his songs, "U.S. Male" and "Guitar Man" (both in 1968). He also wrote the hit "A Thing Called Love," which was recorded in 1972 by Johnny Cash. He also wrote songs for Brenda Lee, Tom Jones, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and the Oak Ridge Boys.
Reed was voted instrumentalist of the year in 1970 by the Country Music Association.
He won a Grammy Award for "When You're Hot, You're Hot" in 1971. A year earlier, he shared a Grammy with Chet Atkins for their collaboration, "Me and Jerry." In 1992, Atkins and Reed won a Grammy for "Sneakin' Around."
Singer-guitarist Brad Paisley said Reed was one of country music's most influential players.
"Anyone who picks a country guitar knows of his mastery of the instrument — one of the most inspirational stylists in the history of country music, a complete master," Paisley said. "I'm in debt to him for paving the way for myself and the other guitarists of today."
Reed continued performing on the road into the late 1990s, doing about 80 shows a year.
"I'm proud of the songs, I'm proud of things that I did with Chet (Atkins), I'm proud that I played guitar and was accepted by musicians and guitar players," he told the AP in 1992.
In a 1998 interview with The Tennessean, he admitted that his acting ability was questionable.
"I used to watch people like Richard Burton and Mel Gibson and think, `I could never do that.'
"When people ask me what my motivation is, I have a simple answer: money."

After almost six years a date has been set for R. Kelly’s child pornography case. Judge Vincent Gaughan decided not to revoke R. Kelly’s bond when the singer missed a hearing on Wednesday because his tour bus was pulled over by the police. The judge has set a trial date of May 19, according to the Associated Press:
Gaughan said that in similar situations in the future, Kelly must fly to make his court dates on time.
He also ordered the singer to cancel a Jan. 13 concert to ensure that he makes a Jan. 14 court date.
I don’t see how R. Kelly can remember the details of the alleged incident. It happened way back in 2000.

In a U.S. government warning high on the creepiness scale, the Defense Department cautioned its American contractors over what it described as a new espionage threat: Canadian coins with tiny radio frequency transmitters hidden inside.
The government said the mysterious coins were found planted on U.S. contractors with classified security clearances on at least three separate occasions between October 2005 and January 2006 as the contractors traveled through Canada.
Canada’s largest coins include its $2 “Toonie,” which is more than 1-inch across and thick enough to hide a tiny transmitter.

Spears, 24, married Federline, 28, in 2004. They have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston, and an infant son who was born Sept. 12. The divorce papers identify the baby as Jayden James Federline.
In the divorce papers, Spears asks for custody of the couple's two children, with visitation rights for Federline. The filing lists as separate property, and thereby off-limits to Federline, "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal affects," earnings and other assets to be determined later.

Every poll taken shows that a majority of the population favors the death penalty for heinous crimes. Proof, a member of rap group D12 and a close friend of Eminem, was shot to death early Tuesday at a nightclub along Eight Mile Road, a publicists said.
The death of Proof whose real name is Deshaun Holton was confirmed by Dennis Dennehy, the publicist for D12's label, Interscope Records.
"Memorial service arrangements are still being made, and his friends and family would appreciate privacy during this difficult time," Dennehy said in a statement.
Family members gathered at a home on Detroit's northwest side. The residential street in front of the two-story home was lined with vehicles.
Proof was the best man at Eminem's wedding in January and often appeared alongside the superstar rapper at concerts and public appearances. He also appeared in the film "8 Mile."

On the DVD, released Tuesday, Carey Kelly alleges that his more famous brother offered him $50,000, a house and a record contract if he would agree to testify that he appeared on the tape, but that he turned the offer down because he did not want to lie.
"I got a call about a year and a half ago," Carey claims on the DVD, produced by Drahma Magazine. "My brother wanted me to do some s--t pertaining to this case that would leave me behind bars with a record deal. It doesn't make sense, so I turned it down.

The mole says Spears "acknowledges she has made a great deal of money. However, she is trying to show Kevin that he needs to be responsible and curb his out-of-control spending habits."
This isn't the first time that Britney has allegedly gotten her bikini bottoms in a bunch over the "PopoZao"-spouting former backup dancer's apparent inability to live on a budget.

U.S. Coast Guard and Navy finds pounds of cocaine

A joint operation between the U.S. Coast Guard and Navy netted more than 2,200 pounds of cocaine from a fishing vessel about 40 miles north of Panama, the Coast Guard announced Thursday.
On Feb. 6, a Coast Guard crew deployed from San Diego and a Navy frigate based out of Everett, Wash., stopped and boarded the Victoria, a 40-foot fishing vessel, north of Panama.
Initially, the master of the Victoria indicated he had approximately 300 pounds of fish on board, but during the boarding the master stated he had discarded the fish, according to the Coast Guard.
The master also claimed to have fishing poles and line, but none was found.
During the boarding, Coast Guard and Naval personnel discovered a freshly painted bulkhead. The wall was removed and the contraband was found, the Coast Guard said.
Four foreign nationals were also detained.
The Coast Guard is scheduled to turn over the cocaine, with an estimated street value of $66 million, and four detainees to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Miami Beach later today.

Al Lewis, the cigar-chomping patriarch of "The Munsters" whose work as a basketball scout, restaurateur and political candidate never eclipsed his role as Grandpa from the television sitcom, died after years of failing health. He was 95.
Lewis, with his wife at his bedside, passed away Friday night, said Bernard White, program director at WBAI-FM, where the actor hosted a weekly radio program. White made the announcement on the air during the Saturday slot where Lewis usually appeared.
"To say that we will miss his generous, cantankerous, engaging spirit is a profound understatement," White said.
Lewis, sporting a somewhat cheesy Dracula outfit, became a pop culture icon playing the irascible father-in-law to Fred Gwynne's ever-bumbling Herman Munster on the 1964-66 television show. He was also one of the stars of another classic TV comedy, playing Officer Leo Schnauzer on "Car 54, Where Are You?"
But Lewis' life off the small screen ranged far beyond his acting antics. A former ballplayer at Thomas Jefferson High School, he achieved notoriety as a basketball talent scout familiar to coaching greats like Jerry Tarkanian and Red Auerbach.
Unlike some television stars, Lewis never complained about getting typecast and made appearances in character for decades.
"Why would I mind?" he asked in a 1997 interview. "It pays my mortgage."
Lewis rarely slowed down, opening his restaurant and hosting his WBAI radio program. Accusations of backstabbing behavior on the hotel heiress' part have earned Hilton her day in court in two separate trials.
Diamond heiress Zeta Graff, who once dated Hilton ex Paris Latsis, has filed a lawsuit seeking at least $10 million in damages, alleging that Hilton slandered her by deliberately planting "vicious lies" about her in the press.
Hilton is due in a Los Angeles courtroom on Jan. 17 for a hearing on the matter.

A judge tossed out Michael Jackson's $10 million lawsuit against a New Jersey man over memorabilia the pop star claimed had been stolen.
U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper dismissed the lawsuit Tuesday because Jackson had stopped pursuing the case he filed two years ago, according to court papers.
Calls to Jackson's spokeswoman and a lawyer for Henry Vaccaro seeking comment weren't immediately returned Wednesday night.
Vaccaro had a warehouse full of memorabilia from Jackson family members that included gold-trimmed costumes, financial documents, letters, awards and one of Michael Jackson's first outfits worn with the Jackson 5.
At one point, Vaccaro's lawyer, Edgar Pease III, alleged the items also included gold records and personal items including skin bleach, soiled underwear, sexual videotapes, sexual paraphernalia and a hand-drawn picture by Jackson of a 7-year-old boy.
A lawyer for Jackson at the time said the singer never claimed the bleach, sexual materials, underwear or picture were his.
Vaccaro, an Asbury Park construction company owner, said he was awarded the memorabilia after years of legal wrangling stemming from a failed business venture that wound up in bankruptcy court.
He took items that had been in an Oxnard storage facility but were sold during the bankruptcy proceeding involving Jackson family members.

Renfro was arrested Thursday in a sting that netted 14 other people, police said.

Undercover officers were working an area known as "Heroin Alley," where people were eagerly trying to buy drugs despite the presence of reporters and photographers. "The sales were occurring minutes apart," Vernon said.
Renfro has had a series of run-ins with the law. His most recent previous encounter was on Nov. 24, when he was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and two counts of driving with a suspended license, said city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan.

The following is an editorial written in response to the revelation that White superstar rapper Eminem recorded songs early in his career that denigrate Black women. On November 18, The Source magazine owners Ray Benzino and Dave Mays held a press conference to play a recording of Eminem delivering racial slurs. According to MTV.com, the 30-year-old rapper responded that he made the tracks as a teen after breaking up with an African-American girlfriend and had "reacted like the angry, stupid kid" that he was at the time.

If convicted on the child pornography charges, Kelly could face up to 15 years in state prison, a $100,000 fine and be forced to register as a sex offender.
Last month, Kelly's tumultuous off-stage life suffered another hiccup when his wife obtained a restraining order against him, alleging he slapped her. The couple eventually worked out the problems, however, and the order was dropped.

Kelly has pleaded innocent to 14 counts of child pornography.
The defense argued unsuccessfully that prosecutors have been too vague about when the alleged crime took place. Prosecutors claim the video was made sometime during a nearly three-year span between January 1998 and October 2000.
Kelly, whose first name is Robert, won a Grammy for the gospel-like song "I Believe I Can Fly." He's also known for sexually charged music.
The next court date was set for December ninth.

Known as "Prussian Blue" — a nod to their German heritage and bright blue eyes — the girls from Bakersfield, Calif., have been performing songs about white nationalism before all-white crowds since they were nine.
"We're proud of being white, we want to keep being white," said Lynx. "We want our people to stay white … we don't want to just be, you know, a big muddle. We just want to preserve our race."
Lynx and Lamb have been nurtured on racist beliefs since birth by their mother April. "They need to have the background to understand why certain things are happening," said April, a stay-at-home mom who no longer lives with the twins' father. "I'm going to give them, give them my opinion just like any, any parent would."
April home-schools the girls, teaching them her own unique perspective on everything from current to historical events. In addition, April's father surrounds the family with symbols of his beliefs — specifically the Nazi swastika. It appears on his belt buckle, on the side of his pick-up truck and he's even registered it as his cattle brand with the Bureau of Livestock Identification.
"Because it's provocative," explains April of the cattle brand, "to him he thinks it's important as a symbol of freedom of speech that he can use it as his cattle brand."
Teaching Hate
Songs like "Sacrifice" — a tribute to Nazi Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy Fuhrer — clearly show the effect of the girls' upbringing. The lyrics praise Hess as a "man of peace who wouldn't give up."
"It really breaks my heart to see those two girls spewing out that kind of garbage," said Ted Shaw, civil rights advocate and president of the NAACP's Legal Defense Fund — though Shaw points out that the girls aren't espousing their own opinions but ones they're being taught.

R. Kelly has split up. His latest two-CD set has two titles and two missions: Happy People aims for dancing and romancing, while U Saved Me calls for fervent prayer. Instead of trying to mix his secular and devout sides, as he did on his 2003 album, Chocolate Factory, he has chosen to separate them almost completely.
Like so many rhythm & blues superstars -- from Little Richard to Al Green to Prince -- Kelly has long been a divided soul, endlessly trying to reconcile carnal impulses with Christian faith. Also like Prince, Kelly makes most of his music by himself in the studio, while drawing freely on the history of soul. There's plenty of gospel in Kelly's music, most obviously on his megahit "I Believe I Can Fly"; practically everything else, from 1995's "Bump N' Grind" to last year's "Ignition," is a smoldering make-out groove.
But in the earthly realm, Kelly has had nearly as much trouble as Michael Jackson. Since 2002, Kelly has faced pending charges of child pornography, stemming from a videotape that purportedly shows him having sex with an underage girl. His album after that, the suavely deranged Chocolate Factory, tossed together lust, tributes to monogamy, praise for God and a little bit of gunplay.

There are no innocent parties here: everyone from Kelly to the girls and their parents are culpable. I think Kelly is a man -- a grown man -- that, barring jail time, may need professional help learning how to control his urges. I almost -- ALMOST, I said -- have no problem with the tape itself, except the fact that it is illegal in all 50 states to tape a minor having sex. Taking that as a given, people tape themselves having sex every day, and this tape is pretty pedestrian fare until he urinates on the girl, which is a kink best reserved for sick, consenting adults by my best estimation, and not in a 14-year-old's sexual repertoire.
In the end, I am torn on the matter: young adults will experiment with sex and sexuality in many ways before they are old enough to regret it -- or not. That's part of how we come of age in our society, for good or ill. Post-pubescent girls are hyper-sexual in an age of ultra-sensual, low-riding role models and easily aroused by the cult of personality; grown men are feeble-minded and easily enticed by the temptation of young trim. And it has been this way since the beginning of time. Older men have been having sex with younger women serendipitously for centuries -- and vice versa -- yet somehow, the world hasn't stopped spinning.
I don't mean to pose as an advocate for under-aged trolling or child pornography -- clearly Kelly (who isn't wearing a condom in this encounter) is reckless. But there are 14-year-old girls playing with jacks and then there are 14-year-old women playing with Jack -- ersatz adolescents functioning as low-tech Lolitas, looking for Mr. Humbert in a matter that betrays the pretense of an innocent contretemps. I'm not sure these recent allegations or any others are, prima facie, evidence of an illness or a criminal pathology.

Sharp said Jay-Z would perform shows at Madison Square Garden, but he did not know if the rapper would finish the tour as a solo act, or if the tour was simply finished.

Moss has made no public comment. No one answered the phone Wednesday evening at the Storm modeling agency in London, which represents her.
Chanel, the French fashion house, said Wednesday it wouldn't renew Moss' contract when it expires next month.
Julie Le Blevec, spokeswoman for Chanel perfumes, said the decision wasn't based on media reports.
Moss has been the face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle perfume since 2002. Le Blevec said the company would continue using ads that feature her until the contract expires.
Burberry aid it had been in talks with Moss' representatives and that they had "mutually agreed that it is inappropriate to go ahead" with the project this autumn.
"Kate has always been a fantastic model and highly professional for Burberry," the company said. "We are saddened by her current circumstances and hope she overcomes her problems as soon as possible. We wish Kate all the best."

Kelly is suing for 75 million dollars, alleging that "spite and jealousy" prompted violence that forced Kelly off their national tour. The breach of contract suit claims that Jay-Z was bothered because Kelly was the higher-paid performer. Court papers filed in New York also name the promoter as a defendant. The suit alleges that the animosity led to technical problems, violence against Kelly, and threats to force the promoter to drop him. A New York judge on Monday dismissed charges that Slater improperly touched a woman's tuchus at an Upper East Side bodega in May following an argument with his girlfriend.
The two misdemeanor harassment counts were tossed by Manhattan Criminal Courts Judge Shawndya Simpson at a pretrial hearing. The charges carried a maximum penalty of a year in prison.

Earlier this year, Slater filed for divorce from his wife of five years, TV producer Ryan Haddon, citing irreconcilable differences.

The chance of R & B superstar R. Kelly going to trial in two weeks on child pornography charges vanished Friday as his lawyers argued motions with prosecutors. It now appears the trial will be pushed back to the fall at the earliest.
That frees Kelly up to release his latest album, "TP.3 Reloaded," on Tuesday with its controversial, sex-filled "Trapped in the Closet."
It has been more than three years since Kelly was indicted on 14 counts related to a video that appears to show him engaging in sex acts with an underage girl.
Prosecutors say it was made sometime between Nov. 1, 1997, when the girl was 13, and Feb. 1, 2002, when the girl was 17.
Kelly's attorney Ed Genson says prosecutors must narrow the time frame so Kelly can establish alibis.
Judge Vince Gaughan scheduled arguments on that issue for July 20, saying he agreed the prosecution's 51-month window for the 29-minute tape is too wide.
"That's two million, two hundred and thirty thousand minutes and change," Gaughan said. "That has to be resolved."
A new-release music video show heard on the tape features "Let's Have a Party Tonight" by the Backstreet Boys and "Too Much" by the Spice Girls, which were hits in late 1998/early 1999 when the girl was 14. An advertisement can be heard for "The Money Store," which closed in 2000.
But if prosecutors base their time frame on that, Kelly could argue it was a recording of the show, along with commercials, that played in the background during the video.
Prosecutors plan to call at least three witnesses who knew the girl in her teen years and say she appears to be about 14 in the video, based in part on her hairstyle.
Other issues the lawyers are still arguing about include whether an expert who analyzed the video for prosecutors must give Genson more details about how he analyzed it.

Like other sex tapes from the recent past — Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee's, Paris Hilton's — the one that allegedly stars R. Kelly is notorious enough to be a prime-time punch line. At last year's MTV Video Music Awards, Chris Rock joked that Kelly shouldn't be seated anywhere near the underage Olsen twins. In "Barbershop 2," Cedric the Entertainer wondered whether Kelly was set up — or if he just set up the camera. And Dave Chappelle has used it in no less than three skits on his show, including a mock-Kelly music video called "Pee on You" and a jury-selection segment in which he "digitally" urinated on the prosecutor. But the criminal charges against one of today's biggest-selling pop stars are no joke. Kelly's not accused of just making a sex tape — he's accused of making child pornography. And if convicted, he'll face 15 years in prison.

Since the prosecution left a wide window for when the tape could have been made, sometime "between November 1, 1997, and February 1, 2002," it is difficult, if not impossible, to determine if the law was on the books when the tape was made.On Friday, Chicago Judge Vincent Gaughan granted the defense's motion and dismissed those seven charges, with the prosecution conceding to the defense's argument. A rep from the state's attorney's office said those particular charges were going to be dropped before the case went to trial anyway.Kelly's camp released a statement calling the win "the first official acknowledgement of the weakness of [the prosecution's] case." Ten other motions from the defense filed in December are still pending.

With the Michael Jackson trial still fresh in people’s minds, and being embroiled in his own sex scandal, R. Kelly should be putting out stuff that is safe as milk. But his newest release, “TP.3 Reloaded”, shows that Kelly is back to his old self — turning his libido loose in his music.
In other words, lots of songs about sex. Songs about sex in the kitchen. Songs dedicated to pelvis whirling island women, and bootylicious club chicks. Songs about sex with someone else, about sex on the down low.
